The amount due on my account is incorrect.  How can I get it changed?

Please submit your balance dispute in writing to CMI.  Include your CMI reference number (when available), amounts/items disputed, reason for dispute, and any additional documents to support your claim.  CMI will contact you with the results of our investigation.

I have already returned my equipment, but my account still says I owe for it.  What should I do?

Please allow two weeks for your equipment return to be processed and updated.  If after that time, the equipment has not been adjusted on your account, please send a copy of the equipment return receipt to CMI so this may be reviewed.  If the equipment was mailed back, please send a copy of the return receipt from the US Post Office or delivery company.  Be sure to include your CMI reference number when available.  CMI will contact you with the results of our investigation.

Why doesn't my recent payment reflect on my account balance?

The length of time it takes to apply a payment varies by payment type and client, however, once a payment is received in our office, your account will be placed on hold to prevent any further action. Please allow up to two weeks for the payment to actually be applied.  If your account has not been adjusted in a reasonable amount of time, please send a copy of any documentation of your payment, such as receipt, copy of cancelled check, or credit card statement.  Be sure to include your CMI reference number when available.  CMI will contact you with the results of our investigation.

How do I know that my payment was made?

After completing the payment process, a Confirmation Page with a corresponding Payment Confirmation Number will be displayed. We encourage you to print this page for your records.

Why do I need 128 bit encryption?

Encryption strength indicates the relativity difficulty of deciphering information in an encrypted transmission.  Common encryption strengths include 40, 56, and 128 bit.  As an example, 128 bit encryption is roughly 309,485,009,821,345,068,724,781,056 times stronger than 40 bit encryption.  That is why 128 bit encryption is generally considered the standard for properly securing sensitive data across the Internet.  This protects YOU.

How do I check to see if my browser is updated to 128 bit encryption?

In order to check if your browser has this capability (and upgrade, if needed) you can do the following:
  1. Select the "Help" button on the menu of your browser
  2. Select the "About" button within this menu
  3. For Internet Explorer read the "Cipher Strength", for Netscape it will say "This version supports 128 bit security"
  4. If it says anything less than "128" you will need to update your security

Microsoft Internet Explorer Users

If you are using a version of Internet Explorer prior to version 5.5, your default advanced settings may need to be modified. Go to the Tools > Internet Options ... menu option. Click on the "Advanced" tab and scroll down to the section entitled "Security."

Please make sure that the following items are checked:

  • Use PCT 1.0
  • Use SSL 2.0
  • Use SSL 3.0
  • Use TLS 1.0

 When you're done, click "OK" or "Apply."

If that does not allow you to browse our site, you may wish to consider upgrading your browser.

The latest versions of Microsoft Internet Explorer come with 128-bit encryption. You can either upgrade the security features of your browser or upgrade to a newer version of Internet Explorer.

Netscape Navigator Users

Click on the "Security" icon located in the toolbar of your browser. Click on the "Navigator" link to see your browser security settings. Please make sure that the following settings are enabled (checked):

  • Enable SSL (Security Sockets Layer) v2
  • Enable SSL (Security Sockets Layer) v3

How do I update Internet Explorer? 

  1. Go to: http://www.microsoft.com/windows/ie/default.mspx. This will allow you to download IE 6.0 with 128 bit encryption.
  2. If you do not wish to upgrade to the latest browser, but only to add the high level encryption, Go to: http://www.microsoft.com/windows/ie/downloads/recommended/default.mspx
  3. Find your browser level on the right side of the page and do the download. Please note that if you are using Windows 2000, with I.E. 5.5 you will need the Windows 2000 High Encryption Pack.
How to download and install:
  1. Click the link under Download for your browser version.
  2. Choose Open this program from its current location and click OK.
  3. Click Yes if asked whether you would like to install and run Microsoft Internet Explorer High Encryption Pack.

How do I update Netscape?

  1. Go to: http://browser.netscape.com/ns8/ 
  2. Download and install the latest version, according to the instructions provided on the web site.

For other browser versions, go to the home page of your selected browser and update to a version with 128 bit encryption.
